Meet Sarah Johnson
Sarah Johnson, a graduate of College of Veterinary Medicine &
Biomedical Sciences -- Colorado State University. With Award Certificates in
Equine Reproductive Management and Artificial Insemination 2001, and
Techniques for Handling and Utilizing Transported Cooled Equine Spermatozoa
and the collection and processing of Semen from Stallions 2001.
She has worked in the industry since graduation and is very good
at handling the mares and stallions for collections and AI breeding.
In 2005, Susan's Arabians & Pintos settled 100% of the transported
Semen mares and 100% of the on-the-farm mares. This was for our own
stallions, and for other customers.
Our breeding success has been excellent and we ship Monday thru
Saturday for the customers and have been known to drive and meet a customer
in need for as much as 5 hours away from our farm.
Our goal is to get your mares in foal as soon as possible and we
have the facility and personal to do it, and to help you when you need it.
Thanks you,
Susan K. Skow owner of Susan's Arabians and Pintos and of SS Painted
Intimidator (Homozygous Stallion)

In 1968 this farm was born with the purchase of an Arabian Stallion , Shady
Lane Gem. In those days there were not many Arabians in the state of Iowa
where I was born and grew up and still live only 10 miles from the farm
where I grew up. I had no purebred mares and crossed this stallion on all
other breeds --including pintos of all types -- this is where I discovered
that I loved the pinto coloring and before the Arabian stallion my first
horse was a grade black & white pinto mare that I rode for over 25 years.
The farm is small with 3 purebred Arabian Mares and 2 stallions. The
purebred stallion was bred on this farm , TSS Az Malik 321265 (WN Santana x
Azrosali) --his pure Spanish Arabian sire, WN Santana was bred by
entertainer Wayne Newton and his dam, Azrosali was my first bred mare and
double Azraff with a *Rose of France (RODANIA) bottom line. TSS Az Malik has
been a wonderful producing stallion not to mention his wonderful disposition
--making him my favorite riding horse. He has sired both purebred and
Half-Arabian winners in Hunter and Western Pleasure. The 1999 Iowa A.H.A.
High Point Purebred Hunter Open was SS Profusion (by TSS Az Malik). SS
Profusion was also High Point Purebred Hunter -Adult Amateur 1999. SS
Profusion also won Open Western Pleasure Saddle Type at the 2000 and 2001
Iowa State Fair. If you want type, conformation, pretty heads and a "Can Do"
attitude Tss Az Malik is a Stallion to consider.
The most exciting horse on the farm is our Homozygous pinto stallion, SS
Painted Intimidator aka "ERNIE". He is registered American Saddlebred and
Pinto and is also IAHA Breeders Sweepstakes Nominated Sire and NSH Nominated
Sire. He is by the Famous Pinto Saddlebred stallion, THE COLOR OF FAME and
out of a Black & White granddaughter of World Champion, Modern Creation.
Here is an exciting Stallion standing at a very reasonable fee -- you can
make some money by breeding to this one!!!!
Cooled Shipped Semen is available. We built a state of the Art breeding barn
in 2001 and 100% of mares shipped to in 2002 settled. We have shipped Coast
to Coast via FedEx (only) -- Ernie is proven to ship very well. We collect
and ship Monday thru Friday with a 24 hr notice. Shipments are collected on
the date asked for and arrive fresh and timely.

The barn was started in December 2000. This barn was built for the comfort
and safety of visiting mares and the modern Lab was constructed to aid in
the Collection and handling of Semen for shipments across the country. We
are happy to report success in our shipped semen program with 100% of mares
settling in 2002 via our shipped semen. We work very hard at keeping
everything timely and clean to insure the best quality of each shipment. The
stalls in the new mare barn are 12 x 15 plus two 15 x17 foaling stalls with
closed circuit TV Cameras. The stalls are constructed of "space Age" plastic
lower panels that are meticulously scrubbed with disinfectant after each
mare's stay. Each visiting mare stall has a Dutch door with a full panel
grill door so there is floor to ceiling ventilation during good weather and
the ceilings in the barn are 16 ft high for comfort and air movement year
round. There is a small indoor arena for exercise of Mares and foals in all
weather. There are pipe corrals and grass paddocks for turnout in good
weather.
